I was asked to build a dock on lake front property. Does the dock have
to float or can I build it like I would a deck?

Floating docks are for lakes that have moving water levels, I have one
on a lake that it's levels move 30 feet every year.

Lakes that have steady levels, or where the end is not in deep water
should be built on post, it's cheaper, stronger, and safer
