Got fed up paying around 2 quid for a tin of hemp that's gone after a few handfuls so decided to go back to cooking my own again. (Hate the smell but the value can't be beaten)... thing is, does anyone know what the extra ingredients are to make it fizz, like what it says on the tin? Cheers for any info rat I got a 20kg sack from Jollies (Petstore) for about £17 Phil |

As said any pet food wholesaler (yellow pages will turn a few up),
most also stock yew nuts (csl pellets to the carp tackle trade), brown crumb, fish meal, trout pellets, maples, maize the list goes on all at a fraction the price that fishing shops sell them at. ok so you have to get a few kg ![]() The smell, try using a pressure cooker 20 mins then leave to cool outside doesn't remove the smell but you don't have to live with it for that long, the water hemp ratio takes a bit of working out to just leave enough water, once they cool enough to remove the lid I add some boiling water to just above the hemp. Fizz, you can roast some uncooked hemp them grind it up add this and you will achieve a degree of fizzzzzz ;-) bicarb helps soften them and makes them darker, well always seem to with mine.
