Outboard Question

I wouldn't think twice about it. HPDI all the way. It gets WAY better
mileage, both gas and oil. It runs smoother, will idle all day if
necessary, and has better mid-range torque, so it performs better when
climbing waves in really rough water. Only drawback is that it may prove
a mile or two an hour slower in the top end.

As an addition, my fuel injected motor starts SOOOO great, it's not even
funny. Man, what an incredible difference over my old carb motor, even when
it was brand new!

Thanks again to Steve Huber and others for talking me into paying extra for
that motor. It was definitely worth the extra (which I was able to talk
them down to a $1500 difference)!!!

Andrew, that is where I am at, about $1800 difference. I am definitely
leaning towards teh HPDI, but we will see how financing comes out , which I
will know tomorrow ....

Hi Chris,

Rich was spot on. If you ever have to idle stumpfields, you will
appreciate the fuel injection. Carbed engines don't like to idle when
trimmed up. You have to stop, trim down and clean her out ever now and
again. Kind of a pain really.

Make a few 140 mile runs in tournaments and the fuel savings really
starts to shine.
