![]() "Lawrence Ressler" wrote in message ... My 82-old-father has been tying flies for many years. Lately, he has been tying flies with a Number 10 hook with a lead head at the eye and white chicken feathers and/or imitation white fur. Does anyone have any new ideas for making flies to catch Sunfish (also known as Bluegill or Bream)? My father likes to fish for Sunfish more than any other species of fish, so this would be a big help to him. He, and I, would appreciate it if you could help us out. ---------------- Lawrence, your Dad is very wise. Sunfish are the best fish to fly fish for and give the most fight per ounce of anything on this planet (IMHO). I have some many wonderfuly fishing experiences catching bluegill on a fly. My favorite bluegill fly is the Bully's Bluegill Spider by Roxanne & Terry Wilson as mentioned in their book by the title Bluegill Fly Fishing & Flies: Illusions in Fly Tying. I tie it both dry and wet and have had great success. I do love catching them on dry flies. Chris |
