I don't share the obsession many here appear to have for
cleverly getting fly fishing products on the cheap. Some
of the same folks who bemoan the demise of the local fly
shop will go to great lengths to avoid paying five bucks
for a bottle of Frog's Fanny.

Buy the Frog's Fanny you cheap *******s !!

I've got nothing against bargain hunters, but how do folks manage
to get it into the bottle?

Materials:

one sheet of paper
one empty Frog's Fanny bottle
one enormous supply of Cabosil TS-720 or equivalent

Technique:

fold paper in half
put approx. one bottle-full of TS-720 on crease of folded paper
transfer to Frog's Fanny bottle

OK. My limited experience with the stuff somehow made me believe
it wouldn't stay put or flow easily....

to get it into the bottle? (I assume you use an old Frog's Fanny
bottle or something similar.) That stuff won't even hold still
getting it *out* of the bottle.....

JR
(who confesses to, among other things, buying Amadou in large
sheets from foreign suppliers in order to save a little money...)

I use a disposable plastic transfer pipet......essentially a large
eye-dropper. A drinking straw will also work. Plunge the straw into
the bag, tip sideways, insert the end of the straw into the bottle, and
return to vertical.

OK, I confess to having bought three large sheets of Amadou
from Switzerland myself. But, and this is a big But, living
in East Central piddle**** I have no local fly shop and the
online fly shops I frequent, Uncle Wally's ezflyfish and
Feather Craft in St. Louis, don't carry Amadou.

Dare one suggest that running a trap line would be a very bad career
choice for you?

Wolfgang
still, the boy would always catch SOMETHING, wouldn't he?
