Hi,

Anyone who had casted these two rods give advise/review,
on what is the difference.
Lets say both are 4 weights.

Thanks

As far as I am concerned, they're both a joy to cast and fish and the only
difference to me is the SP is no longer made and the SLT is.

You can still find SPs, and they will be a heck of a lot
cheaper than SLTs when you do. Otherwise, the SLT
seems just a bit "faster" than the SPs, but others may
disagree.

I disagree!

I cancel your vote, and agree with Greg. Back to even.

TKS,

The older, now discontinued, SP is a little softer/slower than the new SLT.

The SP would be good for short to medium distances and great with extremely
light (6x-7x) tippet.

The SLT would be better in the wind and for distance. It would make a better
all around trout rod because of the better casting performance.

What about the SP+? Is that faster or slower than the SP?

A related question: has anyone had the chance to try the 7 or 8wt SLT?

That's fine, Op, everyone has a right - at least until
recently, anyway - to their own opinions: it's one of
the great strengths of this land of ours. Then again,
why anyone would want to be dead wrong *and*
advertise it is beyond me...

Why I do anything is beyond me and all who know me, yet I still disagree.

No, you don't.
