About a week ago I ordered an eight weight fly rod off line but later
found out that they had run out of stock of the product. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a cheap flyrod/reel for under 150 dollars |

I hate to say, but I have used it 3 times already. |

![]() My 8 wt is a Temple Fork and I like it a lot. The rod alone was about $150, but the whole outfit ran about $300. For less expensive outfits check BassPro or Cabelas. Their outfits aren't all that bad. A little on the softer side (good), but a touch heavy (bad). I also have had very good luck with Cortland beginner outfits. I got them for my kids, but I fish them too and they're not half bad. The Cortland Factory Store (on the web or in Cortland off I81) may have a good deal on a left over outfit. The beginning fly rod outfits from regular fishing stores/makers are decent. They are designed to make fly fishing easy and fun so that you buy a better outfit someday. However, a discount store (i.e. WalMart) outfit can drop below the too cheap line. Although, WalMart may carry the Orvis beginner outfit. -- JeffK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JeffK's Profile: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...php?userid=334 View this thread: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...ad.php?t=12662 ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |

![]() I just picked up a 7wt rod from Orvis for bass and pike. They have had some pretty good rod sales lately and dtheir guarantee is impeccable. -- Raven456 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Raven456's Profile: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...hp?userid=2247 View this thread: http://www.njflyfishing.com/vBulleti...ad.php?t=12662 ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
