If you are asking if I think it will be, my answer is "who knows what might catch fire." For example, I don't think any of the trumpeted Obama or McCain "gaffes" thus far are real election issues, but... But if you are asking if I think it should be, then I'd say, yeah, it should. The fact that the DNC didn't just get their gas at plain ol' public gas stations - you know, like regular ol' people - is especially telling. It's not the big splashy public things people do that give real insight into them, it's the little everyday things they do. And IMO, this is particularly damning of the DNC and many of the current crop of Dems. I don't, however, suggest that Obama himself knew of it, suggested it, or otherwise condoned it, so I can't state that IMO, it reflects directly on his character other than as being a part of the whole DNC "machine." Where Richard is missing a bet is in charging for his services. For example a while back I got into it with this flogger whose deal was to fight for sno-mobiles and ATVs in National Parks, Monuments and battlefields. She haunted rec groups and claimed to be independent. Then I found the Blue Ribbon Coalition's IRS filing which showed she was getting $30k+ a year from the industry lobby and that the main sources of that organization's funds were dealers and foreign companies. I think she was skirting the law which requires registration of foreign agents. These same foreign companies were substantial contributors to various radical wing nut politicians and Aryan racist groups in the Northwest via the dealers and various front groups, and were the principal funders of a legal assault to open marine sanctuaries to jetskies in the San Juan Islands. (They lost.) The wing-nuts who have temporary control of the Republican party have been very innovative in using the net with paid and volunteer floggers to influence public opinion. IMHO Richard is not a formal part of a dis-information network, but at least he is a fellow traveler. Dave |

(They lost.) Now I find that hard to believe - I mean, what sensible person wouldn't agree with someone in a camouflaged hood on a black Waverunner with a burning cross on the front...c'mon, now, admit it - it was really the Dick Cheney and the Jews (performing nightly at the Bohemian Grove piano bar...) that were behind it all, right? Dave- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text -- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Richard Why do you keep blaming Jewish people for all the ills of the world? It makes you sound like a closet Nazi. Speak to your religious advisor about this before this hateful obsession consumes you. God bless. Dave |

So what, they'll figure out where the law stands and pay the tab, I figure. How, in heaven's name, does that, in any way lessen the absolute stupidity of McCain's gas-tax holiday? Since you bring that one up, let's look it for a moment. First, the savings is what, around $0.20 per gallon? Yet, the money generated goes into road and bridge upkeep (remember that bridge that fell into the river up in Minnesota....there's lots more where that came from). So we will mandate a reduction in bridge and highway repair to appease the slower-witted voters out there. And, at the same time, **** off anyone whose livelihood stems from road or bridge construction. Great plan, John...no wonder it was a non-starter! Tom |

Meanwhile, our bridges and roads went to pot, big chunks falling on cars. All roads and bridges suffered, except the Mass Pike which was supposed to be paid for decades ago. They keep borrowing money and therefore have to pay off the notes, so, voila, we hafta pay ever increasing tolls. To say nothing of the Ted Williams Tunnel fiasco........ Dave |
