The little pond I fish has got cold, 48-52 in the past couple days. Friday
late afternoon early evening I went down for a few hours. I was throwing a 1.5 inch crank trying for anything that would bite, I usually catch crappie, blue gill and bass. On one cast I tossed it out and it sat for a few seconds while I was fussing with my cigar, next thing you know I get a bite, I try it again and get another. I only have this crank and grubs nothing else that floats. I must have caught 15 fish on a "topwater" I tossed it and gave it a twitch or two and waited for the bite, The only reason I left was I didn't bring a jacket and once the sun went down it got cold. |

I caught Bass, bluegill and crappie on this thing. The biggest bass was 12
inches, the same size as the biggest bluegill. Most where crappie 9-10 inches long. "What me worry?" wrote in message ... Makes great sense that these fish were hitting top water. Fish respond by
rising higher in the water column to collect the falling rays of the sun, warmed fish, more aggression, excitement from the lure being so close to them. I act the same way when I'm around a bag of peanuts. Just can't stop eating them Goobers. "Mike Getz" wrote in message ... I caught Bass, bluegill and crappie on this thing.
