Saw the show and have to agree with all that's been stated. Was also
really disappointed about the lack of "instructional" info presented. I caught the advert for this show a couple of weeks ago in TU's mag. and was really looking forward to the broadcast. Alas...... How about some of the NC-claver's posting some feedback? Bill in Va. |

Timing is everything. None of the brookies I caught while attending three separate NC claves in as many years was four pounds in weight......at the time. Doubtless, all of them are by now. Wolfgang |

Unfortunately, my arrangement with my putative employers is such that I am forced to choose between eating and camaraderizing, at least for the nonce. Maybe next spring. Wolfgang hm........maybe i should try working for a living?..........mmmm......nah. |

didn't see the show. but... 4 lb brookies in nc are from the trout zoos
only. tv trout shows are commercial bull****. teevee show producers don't like the trouble, expense, and uncertainty associated with the real story on nc brook trout fishing - thank god, goddess, and mother nature. a 12 inch native brook trout in nc is unusually large and a rarity. i've caught only one in my adventures chasing native brookies. come fish with us sometime if you wanna know the true story... jeff Bill McDonald wrote: Saw the show and have to agree with all that's been stated. And yet the latest issue Trout (TU's magazine) has a very nice story on Appalachian brook trout, including a shot of a stream that looks for all the world as if its flowing down a grand staircase built of car sized boulders. And no pictures of mesomorphic brookies. Also the TU TV show last year did an episode on the Mecan R. in Wisconsin where they were virtually rained out and spent most of the show talking water quality and tying flies. Which, come to think of it, may explain why they might have felt a need to spice up the production values this year. g.c. |

Christopher Camuto, who wrote the article in Trout, has a marvelous appreciation for the mountains, and if he'd let a TV crew participate I'm sure it would have been an interesting program. Bob |

No promises but, as I've written before, the mother-in-law lives in Fairfield Glade TN and I have permission to abandon Jacci there if we ever go back down to visit. g.c.
