I really, REALLY like my Sage 5wt 5pc SP. It is, by far, the most
vesatile flyrod I've ever owned. The notion that the SP is a "slow" rod is quite bizarre to me. -- Cut "to the chase" for my email address. |

Just my opinion but the SP was the first fast action rod which flexed below the tip when casting. (And one of the first Sages which actually matched the wf line weight). They had the SP+ series very fast rods but they did not stay on the market long. Then when they released the XP series which is markedly faster. So they had the LL series of medium rods and the XP fast with the SP's in the middle so folks just kind of associated them with slower rods. I like the SP series but never considered them slow myself. |

![]() "CB" wrote in message ... What about the SP+? Is that faster or slower than the SP? Much much faster. Very little flex and did a lousy job of protecting tippets smaller than 5X. |
