As I often have a hard time just retaining my balance in fast water I have
never even considered buying a digital camera to loose into the stream, as I have often dropped flies and once or twice a whole box of flies. But I enjoy my scrapbook of photo prints given to me by others but could never really enjoy the disks of clave photos received. Yesterday I found the answer--my local drug store has a little box--you insert the disk--press the selection key for the photos you want to print---hand the bill you receive at 29c per print to the counter girl who applies a CVS discount card into the system and you pay an actual 11cents per copy. I walked around store for ten minutes [ glanced a swimsuit issue of playboy ] and was pleased to hear little lady announce over speaker-- "Indian Joe -your photos are ready " |

We've used that same printer/service at a couple of CVS stores, and even at the "normal" price, it was decent enough "snapshot" output. IIRC, they can read just about any format, memory, CD, or diskette. Also, the CVS Sunday-paper circulars, at least that I've seen, seem to always have a coupon for at least 10 prints, and sometimes 20, free, too. Our only complaint was the self-serve interface was kind of a PITA, but once one got used to it, it wasn't too bad. TC, R |

(snipped) You should try out something like these http://www.amazon.com/gp/search.html...ywords=AQUAPAC You can hook it (loop, tie, whatever) to your vest. Even if you go ass-over-elbows in the river and it comes out of you pocket at least it will be hanging there and not floating down stream. Take photos from shore. |
