Default Baja & Pacific coast of Mexico

During January I'm traveling with my camper down the Baja Peninsula,
taking the ferry from la Paz to Mazatlan, traveling south through Puerto
Vallarta to Caleta de Campos, exploring the highlands, and returning
north along the Pacific coast.

This isn't mainly a fishing trip, but there MUST be some very good
fishing (flyfishing or otherwise) along the way. I'm taking a 7-weight
and 9-weight rods and a heavy-duty sal****er spinning rig.

If anyone here has had some experience fishing Baja and/or the Pacific
Mexico coast I'd appreciate any useful information.

I haven't been (yet), but contact Mario at www.adventuretrailers.com - he goes
down there all the time and I'm pretty sure he fishes down there, albeit with
spinning tackle.

If you're coming back up the Pacific Coast of Baja, there's a place
called Cabo Punta Banda about 20 miles south of Encinada. The surf
fishing there was very good when I was there about 25 years ago.

Thanks for the links, Calif Bill. They look pretty interesting.

Have you booked trips with Baja On the Fly?

Nope, talked to him and her at shows. Have not been down to Baja for too
many years. Thinking of trip next year, but wife says Tahiti, NZ and I'll
add Oz. Am taking the boat to Vancouver Island in the early spring I think.

So that's a recommendation based on personal experience?

Absolutely. I've personally read a number of things you've posted over
the years that experience indicates it is a perfect site for you to get
travel info...I'm sure you'll have a FAAAAAB-ulous time and be a regular
Priscilla, queen of the, er, Senoran Dessert...

You're here, you're queer, and I'm pretty sure many are used to it,

Hm......

Perhaps you'd be willing to share some of that experience with the rest
of us. Maybe it would provide some clues that would help the rest of
us understand the way the real world works.

I'm sure you'll have a FAAAAAB-ulous time and be a regular

Egad! Bon mots on a biblical scale! O.k., did anyone else get the
subtle yet adroit twist on Sonoran desert?

You're here, you're queer, and I'm pretty sure many are used to it,

Lest there be any misunderstanding, let me begin by pointing out that
this is not a complaint (far from it.....free entertainment is free and
it's entertaining), but has anyone else here wondered why it is that
every eighth grader in the country with access to a computer and the
enviable ability to vomit on the keyboard at will eventually finds his
way to ROFF and settles in to await a long delayed puberty?

It's a fact.....cuz ah no it in muh hahrt!

Wolfgang
hey dicklet......you haven't answered my simple and serious question
yet.
